When the ratio of the washing machine operating frequency to the platform natural frequency (f/fo) is less than √2, the vibration is amplified, and when this ratio is greater than 11/2, any vibrations are isolated.

As the system proceeds through f/fo of 1 is when the vibrations are the most greatly amplified.
