Lab testing took place on a custom-built section of flooring constructed similarly to modern residences equipped with vibration measuring equipment. This testing protocol is identical to that used by the major washing machine manufacturers to test the vibration performance of their products.

The machine cycle was started simultaneous with the collection of data and peak acceleration data was collected at intervals of two seconds over the span of the cycle. Data was recorded from each make of washing machine with the washing machine resting on its Testing factory feet directly on the test flooring section, then a second time with the subject isolation method.
